During her years overseas she gained much stimulus to further ignite her creativity and studied graphic design, advertising and layout at the London College of Printing.

In Australia, Laurellen has always taken great inspiration from the coastal environment of the Northern Beaches of Sydney where she resides. Her works capture the patterns of nature, organic forms, her connection with the sea and its plethora of creatures, landscape and the environment with an oriental influence. Painting and relief printing and sculpture have enabled her to bring her strong and playful visions to canvas, paper and 3D forms.

Laurellen has a flair for design which is exposed through the motifs and patterns within her compositions. She has been compared to Preston with her clean line and bold shape. Her work pushes the chosen medium, producing fresh, exciting works.

Laurellen has hung in boutique galleries across the Northern Beaches & Eastern Suburbs since 1998. Galleries such as, Palm Beach Gallery, Palm Beach, Avalon Art Gallery, Avalon Beach, Soda Gallery, Avalon, Tap Gallery, Darlinghurst, Moda Gallery, Bondi Beach, Frances Keevil Art Gallery, Double Bay and The Art House, Sydney.
